Scout plane: set the entry square, then the heading

Set the scout plane's start grid and bearing correctly: the selected square begins the pass while the bearing sets travel direction.

Acquire the recon-plane card, place it in the stamper, enter a grid square and a bearing, then pull the control. The plane begins in the selected square and travels along the entered heading: 000° north, 090° east, 180° south, and 270° west.

Read the card as start square + travel direction.

Example: 000° travels north; 090° travels east. The selected square is the entry point, not the target.

    Acquire the recon-plane card and load it into the stamper.

    Choose the start square for the pass.

  3. 03

    Set the travel bearing in degrees.

  4. 04

    Mentally extend the heading and adjust the grid or bearing before committing the card.

  • The start grid is on the near side of the area you want to inspect.
  • The heading line crosses the suspected target or reference position.
The plane flies awayReverse-check the heading against 000/090/180/270.
The pass misses in parallelShift the start square or rotate the bearing.
